  • Completely new and greatly improved user interface.

  • Checkout the demo and screenshots on the website.

  • Major improvements to the calendar for scheduling tasks and jobs.

  • Users can drag/drop tasks between time slots and days just like functionality you get with Outlook/Entourage/iCal – but within FileMaker.

  • Users can view any number of days in a timeline for their jobs, stages, tasks, timelogs and messages. Only limited by the user’s monitor size!

  • Scheduling has never been easier with the ability to visually assign jobs and tasks to different dates using new Gantt charts functionality.

  • On the Home screen there is now an area called ‘QuickView’ where users can specify what details they want to display on login. For example, some users may spend a lot of time entering time logs during the day and they can now do that directly from the Home screen.

  • Other users may want to see outstanding invoices or orders for example. On the Home screen users can quickly toggle between views of outstanding data related to anywhere is the system.

  • Ability to print the various external transactions (quotes, orders, invoices, statements, etc) in different languages including French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.

  • More languages can be easily added as requested.

  • Users can now enter their time sheets directly on the Home screen and the functionality has been greatly improved with the ability to click on a task or job for the current user to auto create a time entry.

  • The screens in JobPro are now setup to suit larger size monitors as well as smaller ones because every screen expands according to the window size and that window size can be set by each user to their own preference based on their monitor.

  • Set to either the minimum size of the user interface, maximum size of the monitor or to any specific size.

  • This feature is great for viewing calendars in month view or to view a Gantt chart of jobs or tasks across a large period if time.

  • Users can now directly email any document in the system as a PDF in the preview window without having to save the PDF to their computer and then manually create the email attaching the PDF to it.

  • Tasks and contacts can now be synchronized with Outlook and Entourage using Exchange Server.

  • Great for both Mac and Windows users especially if you need to bring data with you on a laptop or PDA.

  • Requires plug-in.

  • There is now the ability to specify your own address formats for printing addresses throughout the system. So now when you print or email an invoice for example the address format can be automatic based on the country of the recipient or if no country is specified then the format is based on your default address format in Setup.

  • Extensive use of ‘mouse over’ tool tips throughout the system so users can easily see what icons perform what function as they are getting to know the system.

  • Tooltips can be turned on or off for each individual user.

  • Jobs can now be set to a status of ‘Ongoing’ to suit users that have ongoing jobs.

  • A new ‘Module’ menu has been introduced at the top of all data entry and list screens to allow users go to any module from any screen instead of having to do that from the Home screen.

  • Improved security/access privileges. On the Home screen and in every screen that displays the module icons only modules that the user has access to are displayed in the menus. That way users do not try and click on the ‘Invoices’ icon for example if they are not allowed access the Invoices module.

  • Monetary values up to 99,999,999.00 digits can now fit into number fields throughout the system.

  • The ‘Outstanding Overview’ screen is now called the ‘Dashboard’ and is available from anywhere in the system without having to return Home.

  • Previously in JobPro each timelog created would default to ‘Charge’. Now users can set each job to default each time log to charge or not.

  • Users can have their own company logo display in the centre of the Home screen so the system will look like it was developed for them specifically.

  • Standard FileMaker menu commands are now available in the top menus and via the standard FileMaker shortcuts, not just within the user interface.

  • In the Suppliers section in the Stock file users can now specify the Suppliers part number for each possible supplier for a product.

  • The field Country is now a drop down menu with ‘type ahead’ ability. Users can still free type into the field if preferred.

  • When previewing a document users now have the option to Print, Save as PDF, Email PDF or view Page/Print Setup. The Continue button when previewing a document now returns to where the user came from but there is a new pref in Setup to specify that on closing a preview windows to either (a) Print, (b) Create a PDF, (c) Email a PDF or (d) just close. In the Preview window there is improved navigation options including keyboard shortcuts to make it quicker to preview or print documents, lists and reports.

  • In Setup you can now specify whether you want to see a preview of a document before emailing it. Relevant to quotes, estimate requests, sales orders, purchase orders, shipping and invoices.

  • In Setup, the option to ‘Display print dialog’ previously meant that when continuing from the preview screen the script would immediately print to your last used printer without displaying the print dialog. In FileMaker Pro 10 there is now as standard a ‘Print’ icon in the top of the preview screen so what we have done is changed the use of this ‘Display print dialog’ option so that if it is not checked the script will not print at all. This is more logical now as users can instead use the Print icon to print or continue to return back where they came from without having to cancel out of a Print dialog box.

  • In Setup, a default sales tax code can be entered so that every new company created in Contacts auto enters that tax code. This saves users having to remember to set that field for every company created.

  • Because of the larger user interface we have been able to put in additional tabs in various files like:

  • ‘Sales orders’ and ‘Shipping’ in Contacts,

  • ‘Shipping’ in Jobs,

  • Separate ‘Documents’ tab in relevant files,

  • ‘Supplier invoices’ in Purchase file.

  • Added ability throughout system for users to click on an arrow beside a stock code to bring them to that item in the Stock/Services module.

  • Now when an invoice is being created from a dispatch the user gets the option to use pricing from the original sales order that created the dispatch (if relevant) in case the pricing on the order is different to the standard pricing in the Stock/Services file. Or possibly, the details on the original order do not come from stock items.

  • In the various financial files, users can now see what transaction (if any) created the current transaction. For example for a sales order that was created from a quote it will display the quote ref and a link to allow the user go straight to that quote.

  • Each column in the list screens can sort ascending, descending or based on the value list of the field being sorted on.

  • On the Estimate Request screen (related to a quote line item) users can now input the quoted unit price from the supplier and if they create a purchase order from the estimate request that unit price will be used on the new supplier PO.

  • For those who have open source access to JobPro to do their own customization or may get it in the future, there have been a large number of ‘under the hood’ improvements to make it easier for customization.

  • The ‘Created Date/Time/By’ fields and ‘Modified Date/Time/By’ fields are now displayed in various screens like Timelog, Stage, Budget, Assembly, Logs, etc.

  • Users can now view a job stage directly from a task screen.

  • Various small bug fixes.
